Loss of innocence is a profound and universal human experience.
Whether it be in childhood, adolescence, or young adulthood, most people
can identify an event or series of events that marked a corruption. From
personal experience, the transition from the early stages of life to
womanhood signified a difficult time that has had lasting effects.
I have constructed ceramic sculptures representative of the mental
struggles resulting from this transfer. Through these physical objects and
repetition I communicate my struggle with both the internal and external
forces present in my life, underlining the tension between shifting identities
in transition.
